VENUE
St George's Arts Centre
We are currently looking for facilitators for our family art & craft workshops for Autumn/Winter 2025 on the following dates:
· Wednesday 22nd October 11am – 12.30pm (Autumn)
· Friday 24th October 11am – 12.30pm (Halloween)
· Saturday 29th November 11am – 12.30pm (Winter/Christmas)
· Saturday 6th December 11am – 12.30pm (Christmas)
General Workshop Information
The workshops will take place in the St George’s Arts Centre. The October dates will be in the main gallery alongside the Autumn open call exhibition, whilst the November and December dates will take place in the workshop area of the café at the St George’s Arts Centre.
Workshops should last approx. 1.5 hours.
There will be a maximum of 10 participants per workshop, and we request that all children aged 12 and under are accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the session.
Ideally workshops should be suitable for anyone aged 4+ and therefore have an easier and more technical version of the craft to cater for different ages and abilities. However, if you feel that a particular workshop is suitable for a minimum age e.g. 7+ or 12+ etc, please put this into your proposal, as we do include workshops for various ages.
We ask that you arrive in time to set up and be ready before participants arrive, and you will also be expected to clean and tidy away after the workshop has finished.
Fee
The fee for individual workshops is £85 plus materials. The budget for the materials must be agreed in advance and we therefore request that you include this in your workshop proposal along with a list of required materials.
Please note, we do not pay extra for travel or parking costs etc.
Insurance/Documentation
To be able to facilitate a workshop for us, you will need to have public liability insurance to cover the activity, and we will request a copy of your documentation. Please ensure that your insurance covers the date of the workshop.
We will also require you to carry out a risk assessment to be submitted prior to the workshop.
DBS certification is preferred and, we would like to know if you do have one or not.
Proposals
We are open to suggestions for the actual craft/content of the workshops but would like it to be family arts and crafts based around the themes mentioned above in brackets.
If you would like to apply to facilitate one or more of the above workshops, please send your proposal(s) to artsandculture@gravesham.gov.uk with the following information:
· Description of workshop
· Material costs and list
· Age ranges the workshop is suitable for
· Images if possible
· Short bio of your previous work/experience (only if you haven’t worked with us before)
The information can be within the body of the email itself or a separate Word or PDF document.
Please do not send your proposals to individual members of staff.
Selection
After the deadline closes, proposals will go before a panel to be considered. You will be contacted within 2-3 weeks after the deadline.
If you are successful, you will be sent a contract and we will request a non-copyright image of the craft and accompanying text asap for marketing purposes. Please note images must be a minimum of 2mb.
