Light Festival 2025 – Workshop Facilitator Callout

In January 2025, Gravesham holds its 4^th annual Light Festival, and we are looking for 2 artists to design and facilitate family art/craft workshops as part of the festival.

The Light Festival takes place on Friday 24^th and Saturday 25^th January 2025 in Gravesend Town Centre.

This year’s theme is Circus of Life, and we therefore wish for artists to use this theme to create their workshop proposal.

The workshops will be based in the St George’s Shopping Centre outside of the St George’s Arts Centre.

Although the workshops are free for families to take part in, tickets for a timed entry will be issued to control numbers at any given time.

We will provide the Artist with tables, chairs and an Arts Assistant to help you run the workshop and if possible, an additional volunteer.

The Role

As the facilitator, you will be responsible for:

• Devising the workshop
• Sourcing materials
• Setting up and clearing away after the session
• Running the workshop and helping participants where appropriate.
• Providing the Arts and Culture team with a copy of your up-to-date liability insurance and an appropriate risk assessment before the workshop.

The fee

The total fee is £600 (covering the Artists fee for 2 nights and all materials)

How to apply: Submit proposals to artsandculture@gravesham.gov.uk detailing your proposed craft, materials list, and attach any photos/images if possible.

Deadline for Submissions: November 29^th 2024

Selection: A selection panel will review submissions anonymously and two proposals will be chosen.  You will be contacted in December with confirmation.
