Icons Collage - Pop Art Workshop
Thu 07 Mar 2024
St George’s Arts Centre
Pop Artists of the 50s & 60s blurred the lines between
‘low’ and ‘high’ art by bridging the gap between popular culture and classical
art. By incorporating consumer symbols such as brand logos and iconic
celebrities they reinforced the idea that art could be inspired by anything and
everything. This workshop will steer you through the process of creating a
unique celebrity portrait by collaging aspects of consumer society, fame,
fashion and kitsch.
Workshop will last between 1.5-2 hours and must be booked in advance.
Workshop facilitator: Mark Whitehouse
Suited to ages 16+
We aim for our workshops to be as inclusive as possible and invite everyone to attend. However, if the participant has additional needs, please contact us in advance so that we can make our facilitators aware.
